Bifold Fluidpower run the London Marathon in aid of The National Deaf Childrens Society
A team of 5 comprising Gary Jacobson, Paul Mather, Rick Lucas, Richard Higgs and Richard Knebel from Bifold's Manchester manufacturing base all completed 26.2 gruelling miles of undescribable pain and misery to achieve the feat of running the 2006 London Marathon!!
It was not all agony on a wet and miserable day as the very supportive people of London played their part in cheering our intrepid runners onto raising over £7000 for the NDCS.
Gary Jacobson, Managing Director, commented that although pain and agony were the order of the day, getting overtaken in the final mile by Bob the Builder and a giant banana kind of put the days meaning into context and that is of course to raise money for good causes!
The 'winner' of the group was Richard Higgs with a time of 3 hours 34 mins & 11 secs followed by Rick with 4:04.53 then Gary and Paul 4:10.35 & 4:12.59 respectively with Richard Knebel crossing the line in 5:29.26.
It was a major achievment and one that the Company would like to thank our many sponsors and contributors.. thanks!!
Just as a post note, Gary, Paul and Rick are running again in 2008 and this time being joined by Peter Hamer. So we are open to any contributions from benefactors!!! Please contact pmather@bifold-fluidpower.co.uk if you are willing to contribute in any way towards the team in 4 beating the 4 hour mark and helping to reach our £7000 target!!
